JOB PURPOSE:

  • To lead the development, monitoring and continuous improvement of the curriculum area throughout the Academy, incorporating all ages and abilities and coordinated with the Academy Improvement Plan.
  • To maintain clear vision, purpose and high expectations, focused on students’ achievement.
  • To provide expert and innovative leadership of teaching and the curriculum; inspiring, motivating and influencing staff and students and facilitating effective teamwork.
  • To promote the Oasis Academy Immingham ethos through delivery of the Oasis Community Learning purpose, ethos and values statement and 9 habits.

AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Student achievement within the Learning Area
  • Performance of team members for whom you have line management responsibility
  • Cross-curricular input and interface of the specialised areas
  • Impact of your whole school responsibility upon student learning

From Easter (or as soon as possible), we are seeking an inspirational leader of Humanities to join our excellent Middle Leadership Team. You will be leading a well-resourced department that has a relentless focus on raising achievement and will have responsibility for Humanities. This is an exciting opportunity for a member of staff seeking to progress into a middle leadership role or an existing middle leader looking to experience leadership in a new context.

You will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • A proven track record of excellence as a classroom teacher
  • Excellent organisational and ICT skills
  • The capacity to lead a team, motivate and empower colleagues
  • A passion for the subject(s) and the ability to share this with young people
