HR Officer 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only)

Salary Point 19, £29,777 FTE

Hours to be worked 7.30am/8.00am to 3.30pm/4.00pm (flexible start)

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to be responsible for the provision of a professional, efficient and effective HR administration service to the Academy.

Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, you will act as a first port of call for all Academy staff on Human Resources related issues, including matters relating to pay.

The role involves recruitment, selection and appointment of all Academy staff. Processing of all payroll related matters including contracts and new starter administration checks. The tracking and management of staff absences and liaising with external agencies ensuring the smooth daily operation of the Academy.

The applicant must have:

• Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to manage conflicting demands and competing priorities.

• Experience in a HR or Recruitment administrative role.

• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Strong administrative and organisational skills.

• Experience of using a HR/PD system (ideally iTrent) to issue contracts.

• Experience of administering a range vetting and pre-employment checks (e.g. references and DBS)

• Working knowledge of People systems and employment law

• A high level of written English – ability to write clearly, concisely and creatively

• Good IT skills with particular knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages including Word, Outlook and Excel.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. In particular, an excellent phone manner.

• Friendly, articulate and customer focused.

• Proactive and able to make sensible judgments when required.

• Hardworking and conscientious with a flexible approach to work.

• Calm and patient.

• A team player willing to support colleagues.

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

• Willingness to undergo appropriate checks, including enhanced DBS checks.

• Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and attitudes to use of authority and maintaining discipline.

• Have a willingness to demonstrate commitment to the values and behaviours, which flow from the Oasis ethos.
