National Office
Make your next career move to an organisation dedicated to transforming lives!
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant National Safeguarding Lead, to join us in the National Safeguarding Team at Oasis Community Learning (OCL), one of the largest multi-academy trusts in the UK, which is part of the Oasis Global family. We are passionate about developing our young people’s competence, their character, and embracing our wider community. We create places where everyone is included, contributing, and reaching their God-given potential.
We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead to join us in the National Team. The OCL Safeguarding Team delivers a range of services and covers a broad range of activities to ensure that OCL pupils are safe and well within an education model that is delivered both effectively and in line with statutory obligations.
This post will report directly to the National Director of Safeguarding & Mental Health to ensure strategic oversight of this new role, however daily activities will be coordinated by the National Safeguarding Lead operationally. The successful candidate will help lead on the direction of safeguarding including a specific focus of safeguarding in Alternative Provision (AP) used by Oasis Academies ensuring that in all aspects of their delivery the work policies and practice meet statutory requirements and there is a culture that puts exemplary safeguarding of children at the heart of all we do.
The qualities we see in a successful candidate are high self-expectation, good time management, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities. We are seeking a passionate and driven individual who can work within the structure of the OCL nine habits and Ethos and have the ability communicate effectively within a wide range of individuals, colleagues and outside agencies, and significant safeguarding and/or alternative provision experience. The role requires the individual to be able and willing to travel nationally to all settings across the Oasis estate, including overnight stays.
As an organisation OCL has a commitment to personal development and so continuing professional development opportunities will be discussed with the successful candidate.
